Youth & Guardian Consent Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Users under 18 may use personalized coaching only with verified guardian consent. This policy explains how consent is obtained, what data is shared, and how it can be withdrawn.

1. Eligibility

  • A user must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • Users aged 13–17 ("minors" or "youth athletes") may access personalized coaching only after a guardian completes the consent flow.

2. How consent is verified

  • During onboarding, the minor provides a guardian's name, email, and relationship.
  • METRIQ sends a single-use, expiring confirmation link only to the guardian's email. The minor cannot self-confirm consent.
  • A guardian approves or declines through that link. The approval timestamp and guardian identity are recorded.

3. Privacy separation

Guardians do not receive the minor's password, full coaching conversations, or private logs. The guardian's confirmation token is never exposed to the minor. A guardian sees only the consent disclosure and status.

4. Activation & withdrawal

Personalized coaching activates only after approval. If a guardian declines, the program stays in an educational-only state. A guardian may withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal pauses personalized coaching and deactivates the tailored plan.

5. Records

Each acceptance of this policy and the Medical & Fitness Disclaimer is stored as a legal-acceptance record tied to the minor's account, with the guardian's identity and timestamp.
