METRIQ ("we", "us", or "our") operates a metabolic fitness and performance coaching platform featuring an AI coach named NOVA. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: name, email address, and authentication credentials managed by our platform provider.
• Profile & health data: age, sex, height, weight, body composition, goals, dietary preferences, injuries, medical conditions, and recovery indicators you choose to provide during onboarding or logging.
• Activity logs: food and nutrition logs, workouts, recovery logs, measurements, and progress photos you enter or submit.
• Usage data: how you interact with the app, features used, and device/browser information.

2. How we use your data

• To build and adapt your personalized coaching program and macro targets.
• To power NOVA, which reads your logged data to provide coaching responses, summaries, and recommendations.
• To send you scheduled coaching emails (e.g., morning briefings, weekly reports) and account-related messages.
• To improve the platform, fix issues, and develop new features.

3. AI processing (NOVA)

NOVA responses are generated by a third-party large language model provider. To coach you, your logged data and profile are included in prompts sent to that provider. We do not sell your data. The LLM provider processes prompts under its own terms as a sub-processor. Avoid entering information you would not want included in a coaching prompt.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us run the platform (hosting, email delivery, LLM, analytics) under appropriate obligations, and where required by law. Aggregated, de-identified data may be used for analytics.

5. Data security

We apply row-level access controls so that one user cannot read or modify another user's logs, profile, goals, reports, or coaching memory. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest in our provider's infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your data using reasonable measures.

6. Minors and guardian consent

Users under 18 may only use personalized coaching with verified guardian consent. Consent is confirmed through a single-use, expiring link sent only to the guardian; the minor cannot self-confirm. The minor's password and private coaching conversations are never shared with the guardian. A guardian may withdraw consent at any time, which pauses personalized coaching.

7. Your rights

• Access & export: you can view your logged data in the app and request an export.
• Correction: edit your profile and logs at any time.
• Deletion: you can delete individual logs or your account from Profile settings, which removes your associated data.
• Opt-out: disable Autopilot or quiet hours, and unsubscribe from any automated email.

8. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account or specific records, we remove that data from active systems within a reasonable period, subject to legal or backup-retention requirements.

9. Cookies & local storage

We use local storage and cookies for authentication, language preference, and basic functionality. We do not use advertising cookies.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
