Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of METRIQ, a metabolic fitness and performance coaching platform featuring an AI coach named NOVA (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Private beta & invite-only access

METRIQ is currently in a private beta. Access is invite-only. Registration is limited to email addresses invited by METRIQ. We may revoke or limit beta access at any time, add or remove features, or end the beta without notice. Beta features may be incomplete, change frequently, or be removed.

2. Eligibility & minors

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
Users under 18 may use personalized coaching only with verified guardian consent obtained through our consent flow. A guardian may withdraw consent at any time.
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.

3. No medical advice — important disclaimer

METRIQ and NOVA provide general fitness, nutrition, and wellness coaching for informational purposes only. They are not medical devices and do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or care. NOVA's suggestions are generated by an AI model and may be inaccurate or incomplete.

Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing any fitness, nutrition, or wellness program — especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, take medication, or have been advised to restrict activity. Do not disregard or delay professional medical advice because of anything in the Service. If you think you have a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.

4. Your data & privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for any health information you choose to share with the AI coach. We apply row-level access controls so other users cannot access your data.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
Attempt to access another user's data, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Service.
Enter false or misleading health data in a way that could produce unsafe guidance for yourself.
Use AI-generated coaching as a substitute for professional medical advice.
Resell or redistribute access to the Service.

6. Beta feedback & license

We welcome your feedback, ideas, and suggestions. Any feedback you provide may be used by METRIQ without restriction or compensation, and you grant us a royalty-free license to use it to improve the Service.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or reliability. We do not guarantee specific fitness or health outcomes from using the Service.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, METRIQ and its affiliates, officers, and providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any injury or health outcome arising from your use of the Service or reliance on AI-generated coaching, even if advised of the possibility.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold METRIQ harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

10. Accounts, billing & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from Profile settings. Any beta access is free of charge during the beta unless a paid plan is separately agreed.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law & contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which METRIQ operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. For questions about these Terms, contact METRIQ support through the app's support channel.
